Journal

Well so much to keeping up with this journal on the regular. But I will compensate with a quick fire of what I have been up to.

I have been playing through the Yakuza series and beat Yakuza Kiwami 2 recently. I am now moving onto to Zero which I realize now should have been my first game to play but I was being a dumb-dumb. Honestly can't even explain my logic outside of thinking I should play the prequel later because that is how Metal Gear and Star Wars did it.

It is super good by the way. The Yakuza series can be described as a dectetive game with great combat, Japanese Tourism and a wonderful slice of life anime.

Also decided I would learn some texture work that has taken over my hyperfixation from this site. But in return I will share my images here so you can see where my effort has gone.

I admit that they aren't great but honestly even though I spent a couple of hours making them, especially the crate texture, but I enjoyed it and learned quite a bit from the proccess.

Also sorry if the marble texture dosen't look great on the site. You need to zoom in to see it better. Maybe one day I will make a function so you can enlarge the image without needing to zoom in or open the image in a new tab.

Though I did fine witht the normal texture for the marble texture, the crate texture came out AWFUL. But I will go back over it again.

I think what I want to do is try and make the planks more square instead of the rounded look it came out as when I was painting it.

I have considered instad going for making a wooden texture then modeling the planks in Blender to make the box face then taking a rendered image with the texture applied. From there I can throw that into an GIMP and make into a better texture for making normals out of.

Recently I also caught a Power Ranger Marathon playing on Pluto TV. I have an uncle who recorded an old marathon back in the day and sent us a bunch of VHS tapes so I watched the whole series (up to Dino Thunder) back in the day.

It is rewatching it as an adult. Observing how cheesy it is but also appreciating how they intigrated the Japanese footage and how they recorded martial arts on the American side as well.

It may still be a cheesy package but there is alot to still appreciate and it does get more entertaining as it goes on. I always liked PR in Space and PR Lost Galaxy.

I will try to keep updating this journal periodically. But definietly will not try to promise things regularly becuase my hyper focus retention will not allow me.

I meant to make an entry yesterday but didn't get to that due to Spanish lessons and getting side tracked so I am doing it now in the early morning

It seems that neocities sometimes has some parts of the page that take longer to update than others. I was updating the journal page just fine but the style.css for some reason just wouldn't change til I checked about an hour ago.

I am constantly delaying getting some more freelance work so I get cash I really need. I don't know why I do this. I think I just hat diving into the unknown even though I know everytime I do that I get better. I should just do it. But I instead I do this becuase I know it makes me feel better and it improves me too. Just wish it could bring me income.

I am also not the type to ask for moeny which is why I would never make a donation page or something like that. I wish I could get over that kind of pride. Especially in the current cliamte we live in. But others need that money more.

I think I will start on the site update page so I can start bitching about the site there.

When do you think the madness that envops the USA will end? I just want us to all to have sense. It feels that we can't collectively reason anymore. I could go through things bit by bit but there is no use. Everyone lives in their reality til the gustapo knocks at our door.

I feel I should be out there doing something radical but instead I am here in the comfort of my own room just typing into a html page. It feels patheric

I know this entry is all over the place but that is how my brain works and I do want my journal to be a reflection of me, warts and all.

Also been re-watching Breaking Bad. After watching Better Call Saul it is cool to notice all the details I didn't catch the first time around. Also since I have been studying Spanish I am able to follow more of the cartel dialouge without needing to reading the subtitles. I do still need them of course but I am catching more which is a nice feeling.

Anyway time to get to work on the update page. I will probably do another journal entry later today. Not sure if I will time code it or just put it above this entry witht he same date. It isn't like I need to be accurate with me entries since I am not doing journalism or anything like that. Though knowing me I will still edit this entry since I tend to catch my mistakes and want re-word things when I feel my writing is too repeatitive. I can see all the sentances that start with I. Dios Mi.

Building this site has been fun and honestly I have learned more HTML and CSS creating these pages than I have in many of my previous attmepts at designing websites.

Having so many examples from fellow neocities sites authors has been such a big help. I have had a lot fun exploring other's sites.

My site is easily more simplistic in comparision but I hope to meet the skills of others, keeping in mind that this is a marathon and not a sprint.

Regardless though I think I have a good base for an asethetic that I can build on and refine over time.

I don't want to fill up this journal with site updates so I will make a new site update section eventually but for right now I don't mind putting it here since this is the main thing I am doing right now and it will take some time to make that page.

I will make that page as an opportunity to play with an alternative CSS theme. I have enjoyed the diversity of styles that other sites have brought to each of their pages and want to do the same.

For now it is time to get back to putting the finishing touches to the current page but this will serve as good piece of example content for further styling of the journal page.
